St Michael’s Basilica Parish Council (Miramichi, NB) held its second community-wide sock drive called “SOCKTOBER” during the month of October. They asked for donations of warm winter socks for the vulnerable.
All church women of the Miramichi area were involved. Over 18 Christian churches and 11 car dealerships were contacted and asked if they would join them in this project. They were overjoyed to be included. The students and staff of James M Hill High School donated over 700 pairs of warm socks!
A total of 6,745 pairs of socks were delivered to organizations in the city who support the vulnerable or homeless.
By warming the “soles” of others, they have warmed their hearts!
