Implementation Committee Update—February 2024

Beginnings are Exciting—Endings Can be Too

By Jacqueline Nogier

New experiences are exciting. Visiting new places, starting a new hobby, or volunteering somewhere different helps members grow in their understanding of the world, the church and society. Learning as they journey through life allows members to continue to have an impact everywhere they live and all those whose lives they touch. The implementation committee members have been on a journey that started on November 13, 2018, with their first meeting.

Since that November 2018 meeting, the committee has continued serving the League in many ways. It has had 72 of its own meetings, and its members have attended countless other working group meetings.

There has been a total of 19,010 hours volunteered between November 2018 and December 2023. The committee has donated 7,360 hours to working groups, committee meetings and writing reports and articles. Those hours have been exceedingly fruitful. At this point, 80 individual resources have been created and can be found on the national website.

The committee entered 2024 with the knowledge that its work is almost completed. Four working groups are still meeting, creating resources and learning ways to improve the League through the strategies in the strategic planning document. All of the committee’s work is on track to be completed by July 2024.

November 2018 was an exciting time to be a League member. Change was happening, and the possibilities were endless. February 2024 is an exciting time to be a member, too. The committee continues to work together with members across the country to build “The League of the Future.” The committee has almost finished its work and is calling on you, the members, to continue the journey.
