The League’s 100th anniversary was marked by the three parish councils of the Mother of Mercy Parish—St. Leo (Florenceville), Saint Joseph (Bath) and St. John the Evangelist (Johnville)—by planting a Red Maple tree at the mission church, Saint Anthony of Padua in Juniper, New Brunswick. Fr. Anthony Ekpe honoured the service to parish life and the enduring presence and commitment of the CWL parish councils. Signifying past service and looking forward to the engagement of new membership, the participants at the tree planting ceremony planted ‘roots’ of the past and ‘branched’ out into the future.
