Sacred Heart Parish Council (Walkerton, ON) celebrated its 100th Anniversary on April 21st with a mass by the Most Reverend Douglas Crosby, Bishop of the Hamilton Diocese, along with Parish Priest, Rev. Leszek Szczygiel.
Bishop Crosby praised the league’s involvement in bringing important issues to the government’s attention, such as plastic beads in cosmetics leading to the endangerment of the fish population. Their guest speaker Andrew Zettel, is a former student of Sacred Heart High School who shared how it led him to his present career at St. Mary’s Parish (Kitchener, ON) as the Outreach Coordinator. They also had 8 former presidents join them for this energizing afternoon.
