President’s Outings – June 2023
I will begin my June outings explaining a challenge I have put out to every convention I attended to date, which is a total of 10. As part of my convention presentations on “Relationships – Catholic and Living It!” I started by explaining my relationship building by holding a small tea party. After sharing the details of it, I challenged each member to hold a similar gathering then share the details with me. I am pleased to share with you three such events, two of which we’re able to supply photos as well. Congratulations to Gina, Bev and Becky. Thank you for building relationships! I am waiting to hear back from the rest of you who received a small starter package at your convention.
June started out with the Alberta MacKenzie Provincial Convention in Edmonton, and then flying to Saskatoon for the Saskatchewan Provincial Convention. A couple days later, New Glasgow was the site of the Nova Scotia Provincial Convention. It was so great to sit with Honorary Life Members Danielle McNeil Hessian and Irene Lefort. After a few days at home, Prince George was the site of the BC and Yukon Provincial Convention.
The numbers at all these conventions was very encouraging and I witnessed the same excitement of the members to be together in all previous conventions! While in Prince George, a pilgrimage to Rose Prince (of the Carrier Nation) was arranged for the day after. A cool and rainy day did not dampen the spirits of a nearly full bus of members as we travelled for two hours to the site of the grave of Rose Prince on the grounds of a former Lejac Residential School.
The month was rounded out with a service award evening at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Sherwood Park, AB.
All the best,
