Implementation Committee Update—July 2024

By Christa Grillmair

On July 1st, Canadians gathered to celebrate Canada’s 157th anniversary. Did you know that The Catholic Women’s League of Canada celebrates its 104th anniversary this year? For more than one hundred years, members have united to grow in faith and promoted social justice through service to the church, Canada, and the world. They do this through prayer, faith development, ministry, education and advocacy. By joining together, members make their voices heard, which can impact legislation when meeting with government and presenting resolutions that address current issues.

Throughout the past five years, I have had the pleasure of working with groups of creative and dedicated women to deliver resources to meet the objectives of the League’s strategic plan. The marketing working group created campaigns and videos that showcased the League’s history and shared member testimonials. Members of another group developed resources to improve, streamline and expedite internal and external communications. The training and development team created workshops and a guide to help trainers deliver them. A team produced an evaluation protocol to ensure spiritual programs remain current and relevant. Another group developed a guide to help attract existing parish leaders to the League.

These resources and many more have been put together in one big package and gifted to you. All you have to do is visit and be prepared to be amazed. At your fingertips is everything you need to develop leadership skills, market the League, support Catholic social teaching through advocacy, and foster an inclusive culture that is valued with dignity and respect.

Having recently celebrated Canada Day, let’s also thank League members for their contribution to this wonderful country.
