Dear sisters in the League,
A Season of Service Advent
Before the Advent season begins, I am pleased to once again share the “A Season of Service Advent Calendar” with you.
The calendar was shared with members last year and is worth bringing forward again. It offers simple and meaningful ways to put faith into action through prayer, kindness, family and service to others throughout Advent.
The national theme, Ignite Your Passion, Empower His Mission, was inspired by the Sacred Heart of Jesus and is a reminder of Christ’s great love, compassion and mercy. Alongside the national focus, “Blessed Are the Poor,” this Advent calendar offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how members can put that love into action through service to others.
Please encourage your diocesan and parish counterparts to print the attached calendar and keep it somewhere visible at home, share it with members and family or use it as inspiration for council service activities. Sometimes, a simple reminder is all that is needed to make a difference in someone’s day.
Two versions of the calendar are included for your convenience: one in colour and one in black and white. The black and white version is a printer-friendly option, making it easier and more economical to print and share with families, councils and communities.
As members ignite their passion and empower His mission, may the love of the Sacred Heart guide them to remember those who are poor, vulnerable, lonely or in need. Through even the smallest acts of kindness and service, members can bring hope, compassion and Christ’s love to those around them.
May this Advent be a season of joyful preparation, renewed faith and compassionate service as you open your heart to the true meaning of this beautiful season.
Wishing you and your families a blessed, peaceful and meaningful Advent. May the love of the Sacred Heart inspire you to serve with open hearts and willing hands.
Blessings as we journey together,
Madonna Clark
