An Easter Message
from
National President Shari Guinta
My dear sisters in the League,
I hope that you found the journey as we travelled through Lent spiritually fulfilling. The special prayers, retreats, rosaries and stations of the cross are all offered to us to help us reflect and realize what a gift we have to believe in Jesus Christ.
And as we journey through the Easter season, I hope that you will continue to find something that resonates with you, perhaps something new—a different prayer, homily or hymn, something that really speaks to you.
May this Easter season be a true, bright awakening for us. A time of light, love, forgiveness and hope!
In this jubilee year of hope, may our prayers be filled with optimism and true Christian spirit. The Holy Father Pope Francis has said that “hope is a gift from God” and “a task [from God] that Christians have a duty to cultivate.” His holiness explains that hope is a theological virtue, different than optimism.
This is a special time for us, for the church and The Catholic Women’s League of Canada. May our prayers be fulfilling for us, our sisters in the League, and the church. A fulfillment of Easter hope!
