A Thanksgiving Message from National President Anne-Marie Gorman

Oct 9, 2019 | In the News, Media, News Releases, Spotlight

“I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints” (Ephesians 1:16-18).

As we in Canada celebrate the harvest, it is good to take time to reflect on the good things God has given us. We have been blessed to be born in Canada and must never take it for granted. As millions around the world live in conditions away from their homes, what can we do to be of assistance? If we have been given so much, we are called to share with others as a Christian imperative.

Pope Francis has designated October 2019, as an Extraordinary Missionary Month. As Christians, “faith is strengthened when it is given to others!” he said, citing St. John Paul II. As we are baptized and sent, may we make a serious attempt to share the good news based on our individual experiences. Faith is strengthened when it is given to others.

May all my dear sisters in the League find reason to be joyful this Thanksgiving regardless of circumstances. I keep you all in my daily prayers. May God bless you with continued joy.
