Dear sisters in the League,

It is that time of year again when this organization continues the momentum of elections begun at parish councils during the winter and comes together at convention—a time of reflection and discernment, as well as personal and spiritual growth, and just having fun. Across councils, we celebrate the dedication and gifts of members while also acknowledging the challenges we are experiencing.

Each of us is called, in our own way, to contribute to the life of our councils—whether through prayer, participation or taking on new responsibilities when we are able. Many members give generously of their time and talents, often stepping forward again and again to serve in leadership roles. This commitment is a true gift and a testament to the strength of the League. It is not always realistic to expect that everyone will step into leadership roles, and that is okay. However, even small invitations—encouraging a member to assist with a project, chair a committee or explore a new role can open the door to future leadership and shared responsibility.

As we move forward to the celebration of Easter, the promise of spring and with them, the joy of new life and renewal, I encourage all councils to:

  • Continue reaching out with openness and invitation to new and returning members.
  • Support and mentor those who may be discerning leadership roles.
  • Recognize and value all contributions, both visible and behind the scenes.
  • Foster a spirit of unity, collaboration and hope.

The League is rooted in faith, service, advocacy and sisterhood. By working together, we can ensure that it continues to grow and flourish.

Thank you for all that you do in service to God and to one another.

In faith,

Glenda Carson

National Vice-President
