Funding Opportunities for Members and Councils 

My dear sisters in the League, 

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada remains committed to supporting members and councils at all levels in pursuing opportunities for personal growth, education and leadership development. The following national funding opportunities are available: 

National Bursary (For Members) 

Members are invited to apply for the National Bursary, which supports education and faith formation in response to our call to serve “For God and Canada.” 

Details: 

  • Up to $1,000 per year 
  • Supports courses, workshops, seminars, conferences and degree programs aligned with the Objects of the League 

Eligibility: 

  • Minimum of one year of League membership 
  • Active involvement in parish life 
  • Commitment to ongoing service in the League 

Application: 

  • The application form (#552) is available at cwl.ca 
  • Two letters of recommendation are required 
  • Deadline: May 15th 

National Development Fund (For Councils) 

The National Development Fund provides financial assistance to councils that may experience hardship when hosting workshops that promote membership growth, leadership and spiritual development. 

Details: 

  • Councils may apply once per calendar year 
  • It is important to first explore financial support at the diocesan and provincial levels 
  • Funding is determined annually 

Eligible Uses: 

  • Leadership training and membership development 
  • Spiritual growth initiatives 
  • Education on the League’s structure, roles and resources 

Expenses May Include: 

  • Training materials and workshop costs 
  • Facilitator expenses (travel, meals, accommodations) 
  • Meeting space and participant support (as applicable) 

Application Process: 

  • The application package (#512) is available at cwl.ca 
  • Post-event report and receipts required for reimbursement 

Members and councils are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to strengthen leadership, deepen faith and support the future of the organization.
