Resolution 1998.03: National Pharmacare

Whereas, in September 1997, Canada’s health ministers established a Pharmaceutical Issues Working Group to explore the potential for national approaches to improving the efficiency, affordability and equity of access to prescription medicines; and

Whereas, drugs have become an essential component of health care, replacing surgery in some cases; therefore, be it

Resolved, that the national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada, in 78th annual national convention assembled, urge the federal, provincial, and territorial governments to continue to work towards an effective, cost-efficient national Pharmacare program.
