Resolution 1996.08: Partnership in Health Care

Whereas, The World Health Organization states that “health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve their health”; and

Whereas, dialogue between the health care provider and the consumer is the foundation of a partnership in health care; and

Whereas, it is important for both the consumer and the health care provider to give and to receive clear and accurate information; therefore, be it

Resolved, that the national council of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada, in 76th annual national convention assembled, encourages all members to become:

  • involved in their health care; and
  • aware of their rights and responsibilities to make informed choices; and
  • aware of community health care resources available to them and how to access them.
