A Christmas Wish
Margaret Ann Jacobs, National President
December 21, 2017
Christmas is the celebration of all celebrations! We celebrate the Incarnation – the union of the divine nature of the Son of God and the human nature in the person of Jesus Christ. The Son of God assumed our flesh, body and soul and dwelled among us like one of us in order to redeem us.
What an amazing gift was Mary’s “fiat”!
What an amazing gift was Joseph’s obedience to the will of God!
What a gift to the League every “yes” you offer is to the possibilities of a better envisioned future!
God enters our physical world and makes everything here holy and good. So, while we wait patiently in joyful anticipation for this great celebration, let us ponder anew:
the longing we experience – the longing for the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control;
the symbols we experience – lights, carols, gifts, decorations, food – the memories of the kindnesses shared and the hope for a grace-filled future;
the hand of God in all of the interruptions we experience where God is guiding and tutoring us in unimaginable paths we may not perceive.
May God’s many precious gifts continue to bless you and all those you love.
May the beautiful miracle of this holy season bring you peace, hope and love today and all through the year.
“May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely, and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this.”
(1 Thessalonians 5. 23-24)
May you experience a blessed Christmas with family and friends!
