12 Hours of Prayer for Palliative Care
May 2019

“Prayer leads us forward in hope.”
(Pope Francis)

12 Hours of Prayer for Palliative Care May 5-11, 2019 was chosen to run simultaneously with National Hospice Palliative Care Week of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.

The initiative can take place within a parish church, a home or alternate location and participation could include a League council, a large congregation, a few friends or solitary prayer at home. It can be designed around local schedules and, in the event that a full 12 hours is not possible, councils may wish to consider joining League sisters nationally. It is the hope of this standing committee that councils and members will find some way to pray in a special way for palliative care during this week.

This information package contains a message of support from National President Anne-Marie Gorman, along with resources and links that may be helpful in planning a council day of prayer.

The education and health standing committee reviewed the care kit and expresses its gratitude to the many individuals involved in willingly and lovingly putting it together.
