The Illegal Manufacture and Trafficking of Crystal Methamphetamine

Whereas, Crystal methamphetamine is a colourless and odourless form of methamphetamine, a powerful and highly addictive synthetic stimulant that dramatically affects the central nervous system; and
Whereas, Crystal methamphetamine is relatively inexpensive, easily accessible on the street and can be manufactured in home laboratories; therefore, be it
Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada, in 85th annual national convention assembled, urge the federal government to continue its efforts to implement strategies for
• the education of the dangers of crystal methamphetamine use, and
• community support of policing of the illegal manufacture and trafficking of crystal methamphetamine
Requested Members' Action:
• write letters to the prime minister, attorney general and minister of health urging them to continue their efforts to implement strategies for:• the education of the dangers of crystal methamphetamine use, and
• community support of policing of the illegal manufacture and trafficking of crystal methamphetamine• send copies to your members of federal and provincial governments, police chief and president of your local law association
• invite members from your local police and other related agencies to speak at a meeting
• host a series of community information sessions
