Water Quality in Canada

Whereas, Water is the lifeblood of the environment and water quality is a matter of urgent health concern to all Canadians; and

Whereas, At present each province and territory has the power to regulate its water supply and to set standards for water quality; and

Whereas, The same standards of water quality should apply throughout Canada for the well-being of every Canadian; therefore, be it

Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada, in 81st annual national convention assembled, urge the federal government to protect Canada's water from contamination; and be it further

Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada, in 81st annual national convention assembled, urge the federal government to enact legislation that will ensure national water quality standards for Canada's present and future water supply; and be it further

Resolved, That the national council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada, in 81st annual national convention assembled, encourage members to become knowledgeable about water quality in their own community.
